Tips for FREE or cheap Halloween costumes under £15

Spooky season is upon us and another reason to get dressed up and have a party has arrived, but what if you want to enjoy the occasion but don’t want to splash out for a full outfit and add to the cost of a big night out or party?

Halloween is becoming more and more popular in the UK as the American holiday is now seen as another excuse to get dressed up and enjoy a few drinks.

This year it has been predicted that the UK will have the coldest Halloween in 100 years so, if you are going out or hosting an event, you may want to prepare for some chilly conditions.

Frankly, the cost of costumes can be outrageous, so hopefully you haven’t already ordered your bikini devil outfit with the cold on the way…

Nevertheless, you’ll still want to look better than everyone else while saving a few pennies where you can, which is exactly why  we’ve listed 5 cheap and incredibly easy outfits for the occasion, for men and women.

(We’ll try to make them as ‘snow-proof’ as possible)

Clark Kent/Superman/Supergirl

What you’ll need:

  • 1 tie
  • 1 white shirt
  • Fake glasses or a lens-less frame
  • 1 superman t-shirt or printed superman logo on A4

Cost: £10 or less

You should be able to put this outfit together with materials you have in your home already so no need to venture to the shops or hunt for something online.

The most important aspect of the costume is the superman t-shirt which you can buy from as little as £6 from SportsDirect. However, if you have a color printer, you can simply print out a large size logo and stick it to a plain white shirt.

Once you have your Superman logo sorted, simply put on a white buttoned shirt with half of the buttons undone from the top while putting on a tie which has been half pulled off.

Next, add a pair of glasses to the equation, whether they are false fashion glasses or an old pair of 3D glasses with the lenses pushed out (remember them!?).

You’ll then have you complete outfit, and appear to be transitioning from normal human to Superman or Supergirl themselves.
