Can you envision yourself as the owner of this well-maintained, stately, Edwardian home situated in beautiful Scotland? Enter our free Drawahouse competition and you may just be the lucky winner who picks up the keys and deed to the property!

Located at 62 Alexander Street in Airdrie, the house is valued at £570,000 and will be raffled off to one lucky winner this December, complete with all of its contents, which include elegant furniture, a grand piano, and chandeliers throughout.

Applying for a free postal ticket is easy. All you need to do is visit the Drawahouse website to enter. You must be age 18+ and must answer a question about the area to be entered in the running. The first ticket is free, and you can increase your chances of winning if you purchase additional raffle tickets online for £2.50 each.

A traditional detached villa, this five bedroom Edwardian house was built in the early 1900s and is situated in one of the finest areas of Airdrie. It is within walking distance of Airdrie town centre and train station, 12 miles east of Glasgow and within one hour of Edinburgh.

It boasts original period features and has four public rooms, five double bedrooms, a grand hallway and a conservatory. The master and third bedroom both offer en-suite shower rooms. If that’s not enough to get you excited, the house also has a sauna in the attic!

The property has been fantastically well maintained by its owners, who have retained its original period features, including decorative coving and ceiling roses, which contrast favourably with elements of contemporary styling. The house affords lots of free flowing space on a bright and fresh layout.

The grand formal lounge boasts a traditional bay window and original coal fireplace. The chandeliers featuring throughout the house came originally from the Turnberry Hotel, now owned by US President Donald Trump.

The kitchen has been fitted to include a range of floor and wall mounted units with a striking granite worktop and island, an integrated oven and an American-style fridge freezer.

The house has gas fired central heating and double glazing and it sits amidst extensive carefully maintained and secluded landscaped gardens, set far back from the road and a paved drive allows for parking of multiple vehicles and leads to detached garage.

Whomever wins the house will be given the deed to the property, awarding full ownership.

Current owner Philip Leckie, a Scot who now lives in Singapore, launched the competition and is also using it to help raise money for charity, pledging to give a portion of the proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets to the local St Andrews Hospice.

“I want to thank everyone who has bought a ticket for the Draw a House competition. The money raised through your participation will help us support patients and families at St Andrews Hospice. We thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

John Brady, Head of Fundraising, St Andrews Hospice

How to enter

Entrants must be over 18 and can get one entry ticket by post when they send a self-addressed envelope to the address listed on Draw A House including the correct answer to the question on the entry page here.

Further tickets cost £2.50 – plus a £1 booking fee – and there’s no limit to the number you can buy.

How the winner will be announced

When the competition closes on 20 December the winner will be chosen by a random number generating algorithm in a live streamed draw at The Cinnamon Club in London with celebrity chef Vivek Singh, and Scottish illustrator Adrian McMurchie will also present an illustration of the house.

What if enough tickets aren’t sold?

Unlike other similar competitions there is not a minimum quota on ticket sales in this competition and regardless of how many have been sold by the closing date 20 December, the house at 62 Alexander Street, Airdrie will be the prize.

Is there a runners-up prize?

Yes. Anyone who enters will receive a unique reference link which they can share with family and friends they refer who buy tickets. The three people with the most referrals will win a cash prize of £5,000, £3,000 and £1,000 respectively.
